You will administer your injection only once per week, at any time of day, with or without food.
Yes, it’s recommended that you take medication on the same day every week at a time that is most convenient for you.
Take medication 1 time each week, on the same day each week, at any time of the day. You may change the day of the week as long as your last dose was given 2 or more days before.
It is ok to take medication with or without food.
If you miss a dose and the next scheduled dose is more than 2 days away (48 hours), take the missed dose as soon as possible.
If you miss a dose and the next scheduled dose is less than 2 days away (48 hours), do not administer the dose. Take your next dose on the regularly scheduled day.
If you miss doses for more than 2 weeks, take your next dose on the regularly scheduled day or call your health care provider to talk about how to restart your treatment.
Considering that semaglutide works directly with the gastrointestinal system, it is no surprise that the most common side effects are gastrointestinal in nature. Some of the most common side effects experienced by those who use semaglutide for weight loss include:
- Nausea
- Heartburn
- Vomiting
- Constipation
- Stomach pain
- Gas
- Diarrhea
Even though there are some side effects with the use of semaglutide, it is still extremely safe to use for weight loss. Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Semaglutide may affect the way some medicines work and some medicines may affect the way your treatment performs. Tell your healthcare provider if you are taking other medicines to treat diabetes, including sulfonylureas or insulin.
